Samsung Introduces New Virtual Assistant Called Bixby |
Bixby uses the voice of InJong Rhee, Executive Vice President, Head of R&D, Software and Services, who is pictured above. Samsung claims that this virtual assistant is fundamentally different from other assistants that are now in the market, as it offers a deeper experience through its proficiency in three properties that include completeness, context awareness, and cognitive tolerance.

The new Samsung Galaxy S8, which will likely get launched on March 29, will be the first device to feature a handful of preinstalled applications that are Bixby-enabled. A dedicated Bixby button will be found on the side of the phone.
Details on how exactly this new artificial intelligence will differ from others are still quite vague, but Samsung says that a push of a button and a simple command will allow users to do several things at once.
Apart from smartphones, Samsung also has plans to incorporate this new technology to all its other appliances such as air conditioners and TVs. Bixby will be implemented in the cloud so devices that have Internet connection and circuitry to receive voice inputs will be able to connect with Bixby.
