It’s no secret that Honor is a sub-brand of the smartphone giant Huawei. Strengthening its presence in the local shores, Honor has launched impressive devices in the country, and the most recent to arrive here is its Honor 8X smartphone – which is packed with almost the same features as the Huawei Nova 3i. Interestingly, the former comes with a lower asking price than the new Nova star. Tempting, isn’t it?
Putting the two handsets face to face, you’d barely notice that the Honor 8X flashes a slightly bigger 6.5-inch screen. Both mounted with a notch on top of its panel, the two devices sport a Full HD+ display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio.
Under the hood, the Honor 8X totally copied the Nova 3i as both units are powered by a Kirin 710 chipset paired with Mali-G51 MP4 graphics. The tricky part? Although they carry the same 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage, the Honor 8X will let you expand your storage up to 256GB without having to sacrifice your SIM 2 slot.
Jumping off to their photography department, in terms of resolution, the Honor 8X is equipped with a better dual-rear camera setup composed of a 20-megapixel f/2.8 main shooter and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, on the other hand, the Nova 3i bounced back through its 24-megapixel f/2.0 + 2-megapixel front snappers.

To keep the device running, it seems like the Honor 8X can last longer in terms of paper as it boasts a bigger 3750mAh battery capacity that supports fast charging. Meanwhile, the Nova 3i is geared with 3340mAh stamina. During our review, it lasted for almost 8 hours and 40 minutes when we heavily used it.
For security options, both devices support face unlock and fingerprint recognition.
The two handsets load EMUI 8.2 based on Android 8.1 Oreo O.S.
You can get the Honor 8X for only Php12,990, and if you have extra bucks, you may consider getting the Nova 3i for Php15,990.
