With less than a month to go before the 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Winter games, Samsung unleashed the Special Edition Samsung Galaxy Note 8 for the event.
Being the Olympic Partner in the Wireless Communications Equipment and Computing Equipment category, Samsung will supply the athletes and Olympic staff with their best device yet. The 2018 PyeongChang Olympic Games Limited Edition Galaxy Note 8 will have all of the great features a regular Note 8 with a few Olympic themed alterations.
This is made possible in partnership with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the PyeongChang Organizing Committee for the 2018 Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG). Samsung will give out 4,000 devices to all of the Olympians and Olympic staff during the PyeongChang games.

Younghee Lee, CME and Executive Vice President, Samsung Electronics, stated this about this venture:
As it is the Samsung Galaxy Note 8, it still has the 6.3-inch Infinity Display, the intelligent SPen integration, and the Dual Camera setup. This will enable the Olympians and Olympic staff to communicate during the event using the latest and greatest that Samsung has to offer. They are also going to be able to capture every moment in very high detail and share it to the world.
Thomas Bach, IOC President, stated this:
The PyeongChang Edition Galaxy Note 8 will have pre-installed apps that are going to be centered around the Olympic Games. In addition to that, it will also be pre-loaded with Olympic-based themes and wallpapers.
Samsung will also provide Galaxy Note 8 devices to the Paralympians as well. They have been involved with the Paralympics since 2010 and with Olympics since the 1988 Seoul Olympics.
