Also referred to as the second-generation Moto Z Play, Motorola's latest modular smartphone comes with the same 5.5-inch Super AMOLED Full HD display, although with a better Qualcomm Snapdragon 626 chipset that is clocked at 2.2GHz than the original's Snapdragon 625 processor. There's also an option for 3GB or 4GB of RAM as well 32GB or 64GB of internal storage.
In terms of the camera, contrary to previous assumptions of a downgrade, the Moto Z2 Play actually comes with a better 12-megapixel f/1.7 main camera with PDAF, laser autofocus, and dual-tone LED flash that can shoot 4K video. On the front, there's the 5-megapixel camera with wide angle lens.

Moreover, Motorola's new phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS and comes with a 3000mAh non-removable battery that is actually less than its predecessor. However, Motorola is offering Moto Mods to enhance the features of the phone such as the battery capacity.
There's the Moto GamePad, which transforms the phone into a handheld gaming console with dual analog joysticks and D-pad controls that adds 1035mAh to the device. Then there's also the 3490mAh Moto TurboPower that can charge the phone really quickly.
Others include the JBL SoundBoost 2 with additional 1000mAh battery and the Moto Style Shell with wireless charging support. In addition to that, last year's Moto Mods are still compatible with the Moto Z2 Play.
The Moto Z2 Play will be available globally later this month at USD499 or about Php25K.
